The project covers an area of 4,571.7 square meters and was completed in just 4 months. It includes landing pads, hangars, command and dispatch centers, waiting areas, tourist service centers, and other supporting facilities. After the project is completed, Minglan Low Altitude Company and EHang Intelligent will cooperate to operate the urban air traffic business.
According to the person in charge of Baoan Transportation Group, after the demonstration center is officially opened, Baoan Transportation Group will work with EHang Intelligent and Pengcheng Wings to promote the opening of several commercial tourism routes, provide air tourism experience services, and build the project into a Baoan’s new landmark for low-altitude industry and cultural tourism. At the same time, Baoan Transportation Group also undertook the construction tasks of the Dachanwan District Low-altitude Economic Industry Public Service Center, the Yanluo District UAV System Application Test Base, and the operation tasks of the district’s first low-altitude economic industrial park, providing Baoan Provide strong support for the development of low-altitude economic and industrial industries in the district.
On the day of the launch ceremony, the EH216-S unmanned manned aircraft from EHang conducted a test flight demonstration at the center. It flew over the “Light of the Bay Area” Ferris wheel, flew around the surrounding area and landed smoothly.
It is understood that, like the large aircraft C919, unmanned manned aircraft must also apply for three airworthiness certificates to achieve commercial flights. The EH216-S unmanned manned aircraft that flew this time received the standard airworthiness certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. It is the first unmanned manned electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft in the world to obtain an airworthiness certificate.
In the future, the functions of this demonstration center similar to a “small terminal building” will gradually be expanded to urban air commuting, urban transportation connections and other fields, further enhancing the visibility of Bao’an District’s low-altitude economy and the IP influence of the drone industry.
